Scam Description
I was emailed about a possible job opportunity and I went through a preliminary job interview that was then turned into a job offer. The scammer sent me a check claiming that the money was going to be used for buying equipment needed for the job but I had to purchase through their vendor. I deposited the check and began to notice red flags from the now scammer. I realized this person does not exist and the email he used was slightly different than the one listed on the actual company website. He also said I had to wire the money to get the equipment. I looked him up on the company website and their LinkedIn and he was no where to be found. When I confronted him he threatened me to send the money and that I am holding him and the vendor up.
