Scam Description

“Carter Coleman” reached out to me via email, saying he had seen my job application on linkedin. I didn’t remember applying specifically to the company he listed but I had applied for 30+ jobs over the past week so I figured they were all just jumbled in my head. He invited me for an interview and told me I had to read a PDF before the interviews so I said okay and he sent it to me via email. The PDF was full of too-good-to-be-true benefits such as $35 an hour for data entry, the company providing all sorts of techy equipment to the employee, the job being flexible hours and remote, and the job requiring basically no experience despite listing job duties that usually do require experience such as data analysis. He stated the interview would only last 8-12 minutes which is very short, even for an entry level position. The email correspondence that he sent was all full of typos and bad grammar, very unprofessional. Lastly, the company that he listed had no job postings themselves for data entry on their website. His email had the company name in the @ portion of the address but it finished with marinbio.work, whereas official company emails on the website ended with marinbio.com
Definitely a scam. If I had done the interview he probably would’ve asked for my bank info or told me that he would send me a check (which would end up being fraudulent). Beware.
