Scam Description
My brother received a job offer for a Front End Web Developer paying $65 an hour. They went through a weak interview process. Hiring guy was from Kenya supposedly. Email conservations included several typos. The job position was for remote work, they sent a check for $5000, told him to deposit it into his account and use the money to buy office equipment from a trusted list of vendors (list was provided). After purchasing, immediately wire them money equal to the amount spent. Total was $4,600. I stopped him before he wired the money because the whole situation seemed a little odd.
