Scam Description
Was contacted via text message about a job I did not apply to to work as a remote Data Entry Clerk (see attached text image). I was scammed last week in the same way, so I did not engage. I looked up the phone number, email, and company name and none of them lined up to a legitimate company within the US that was offering such a position. It is likely that they would have done an “interview” via email or text and offered the job. They would have asked for my address, sent a check to me to buy my “working materials” and the check would have bounced after trying to make a payment to a “vendor”. I’ve learned the hard way with this scam, as they seem very legitimate if you haven’t been involved in something like this yet. Always trust your gut and look for the red flags. Ask for a phone interview and for legitimate credentials from any potential employer.
