Scam Description
I received a call from Ross & Associates on September 9, 2022 stating that I owed $600 to Wells Fargo Bank back in 2010. They had the last four numbers of my social security I told them I do not owe this money. They said if I dont pay they threatened to report me to Chex systems garnish my wages report to my employer and put a lien on my house as well as report me to the three credit bureaus.. I immediately went in person to Wells Fargo bank to verify if I had any outstanding debt. Wells Fargo said no I did not and that they do not turn over accounts to collection agencies. After verifying this information I called back Franklin & Moss to let them know I do not owe to Wells Fargo. They, the man on the phone was so irate and mad at me saying that I had signed an agreement via email to pay $600. I told him, I believe his name was Kennedy that I wasn’t paying. He claimed to be a. Attorney and will prosecute me
I was foolish to sign an agreement to pay on Sept 21st but I was so frightened. They also stated that they had mailed me numerous notifications but I have never received any correspondence from them. I had to immediately cancel my ATM card and reported to my bank. Now I am inconvenienced in waiting for my new card but it’s worth the wait. B BB please do something to this company to prevent them from scamming innocent people.
