Scam Description
I was contacted over a year ago to invest in Bitcoin via a trading platform in which crypto currency is mined. This, according to the company, will garner excessive gains with your investment. The initial ask of me was $1000.00, I was not willing to risk an investment that large. I spoke with the representative of the company for nearly a year, usually through texting about the company and the returns I’d receive. The investment period is roughly one week, during which time you can watch your investment “grow” via your dashboard. Mine grew to over $47,000. At the end of the trading period, I was told I had to deposit another $4,000.00 to cover the fees and taxes. The company representative would never answer my question as to why they could not just take those charges from my earnings. Fortunately I did not deposit more money. They later cut my fees to just over $1000.00, I did not deposit that either.
A couple of red flags led me to realize this was a scam;
1. The address the on the company web site; I called the office building in which it is supposed to be located. No one at the building could direct me to a contact with Crypto Fusion Trading. In fact, no one I spoke to knew who they were.
2. The phone number on the web site does not work
3. There is a live chat tab that I could not get to work either. The live chat is via “whats app”, and it possible that operator error is to blame for my inability to have it operate properly.
I informed the representative that withholding “my funds” in order to get more money from me is extortion. Hopefully my experience will help anyone else know not to get involved with the company.
