Scam Description
I went to the Prime Video app on my Smart TV. On the screen appeared a page that gave a code and a message that stated I needed to register my tv. The message then sent me to Amazon.com/mytv. This is the scam address. The message said I should use the web address on my computer. After I entered the code, a “rep.” supposedly from Amazon called me immediately. He said, “That Amazon had a special offer of $149.99 for 3 years of Amazon Prime & Prime Video Membership.” He also stated that I would receive a 30 percent discount on both sites. He went through Pay Pal to charge my credit card. Amazon never uses Pay Pal. I found this out from Amazon today.
