Scam Description

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
I booked a hotel reservation through Agoda and received a booking confirmation. 3 days later I received an email saying that my credit card did not process and they needed me to resubmit my credit card information within 6 hours or my booking will be cancelled. I called Agoda and spoke with three different customer service representatives, all of which said they could not process my payment and asked me to resubmit my payment which I was unwilling to do. I checked my credit card statement and my charge did indeed go through, and I also confirmed this with my credit card company. When I attempted to call back and ask for a refund, they would not provide me one since they said the hotel is the one that charged me. The hotel confirmed that is not the case and Agoda is the one who charged me. I immediately contacted my credit card company to file fraud since I felt like I was being scammed. I wish I had done my research prior to booking – lesson learned.
