Scam Description
In January 2022 I Googled best moving companies and found positive reviews for two companies and got estimates. Allstate Moving and Storage of Delray Beach FL was the lowest quote, so I decided to go with them. Their quote is attached. On February 21st I placed a deposit for $1326.28 via bank draft, also attached. Then I didn’t think anything of it until it was time to give them our address last week. The phone lines were down for 2 days in a row so I Googled again and found this https://www.bbb.org/us/fl/delray-beach/profile/moving-brokers/allstate-moving-storage-inc-0633-90612002/customer-reviews and the link within one of the reviews: https://www.cbsnews.com/chicago/news/allstate-moving-storage-property-damage-nevada-crown-point-move/ And realized we’d been scammed. I emailed the company twice and called every day but the phones are still down. I called the Delray Beach police dept, and they said this is such a big issue, they’ve turned it over to the DOT, and the DOT directed me to the NCCDB (888-368-7238), where I filed a complaint. They suggested I file a complaint with the BBB as well.
