Scam Description

I was forwarded an email by my dad who got this email from a friend who said the initial email was from a coworker (another realtor). So it seemed legit as it came from a line of people I trust. The offer was a 2014 Steinway baby Grand Piano which was looking for a new good home because the lady whom it belonged to her late husband died and she needed to downsize. Of course I would love to give this beautiful piano and new home. There were pictures attached of the piano. So I said I was interested and she then gave me the information of the “movers” she was using. She provided me with an email, the mans name, and reference number. The “company” was CloakMovers and their website initially looks legitimate. They contacted me and I gave them my address and then they gave me three shipment options I told them I would go with the cheapest option (10 day shipping) which was $915. They replied that would give my payment info to another person’s email and using Zelle. The email looked like a personal email and that when I knew it was a scam. A credible moving site wouldn’t ask for payment via email. So I didn’t give them my payment info and stopped contact with them.
Here is the link to their site and a list of emails that were used in the exchange.
