Scam Description

My home warranty Co. sent A-US Air Conditioning of Tyler, Texas to my home to replace a rusted out drip pan on my A/C. Upon arrival Dennis wanted me to turn on the A/C unit and I explained to him my Warranty claim was NOT A cooling issue. He said without hesitation that he had to check the Freon to insure this was not what was causing my problem. (a blind man could see the rusted out drip pan was the problem) Dennis claimed my A/C unit was 3 pounds of Freon low and that he had to collect $135 per pound IN CASH before he did any further diagnosing. Dennis said this was my Home Warranty Co protocol. I told him again I did NOT have a cooling issue and wanted a second opinion. With this being said, Dennis with A-US A/C of Tyler, Tx abruptly left only to send my home warranty Co a diagnosis that would not allow coverage of my rusted out drain pan. In turn my warranty co did allow an outside 2nd opinion, Tx Licensed A/C Co., to come to my home to provide their diagnosis. This Company first checked the Freon and found it to be perfect. Then this Company easily located the rusted out drain pan and provided my home warranty co the info of the lies about the Freon being low and diagnosed the 21 year old drain pan of being rusted out and in need of replacement.
My Home Warranty Co did approve the 2nd A/C Co. to replace my drain pan and even refunded my $100 service fee I paid A-US A/C. The 2nd A/C Co. clearly documented the lies of my Freon being low on his Invoice Submitted for payment. Customers beware of this Con game aimed at Seniors and when in doubt, get a second opinion. Beware of
A-US A/C of Tyler, Texas. Regardless of the situation. A-US Air Conditioning will NOT return to my home or business.
