Scam Description
I was looking for a small loan for car repair and was contacted by an Individual who was said to represent a company called lending club. I did my research and the company is a real. He said his name was Eric Watson. I was asked who I bank with, passwords, youngest child’s name, SS#, account #, routing number, address, and lots more. He then said he was sending me $225.00 as good faith and for me to go to a store, purchase only certain gift cards then put that $225 on the card and give him the card #. When he received it then the loan amount would be put in my account. It’s been three days since this incident and my bank account had been closed by the bank, I was told I needed to speak with security, my life has been turned upside down and still dealing with the aftermath.
