Scam Description
My mom began speaking with a representative from Real Estate Resources INC regarding a timeshare they own in Mexico. She was working with my parents on a contract to rent out their week every year for 5 years. According to her, there is and upcoming fishing tournament that large groups of people need to secure lodging. During the course of this contract, my parents were put in contact with a “representative” from “First American Title” that would be handling the closing of the rental contract. Long story short, my parents were asked 3 times to wire money to Mexico, which went to 3 separate beneficiaries. First to cover maintenance fees (reimbursed at closing), second to cover an excess tax the Mexican government was placing on the transaction (reimbursed at closing), and third an additional sum for additional taxes Mexico was supposedly imposing (also to be reimbursed.) After three closing dates that have come and gone, and calls from others telling us that these people are being investigated and are fraudulent, there has not been a closing to this contract. From the very beginning, I cautioned my parents about the high likelihood that this was a scam. “Andrew Morgan,” “First American Title, Denver, CO” – SCAMMER. The address he gives is not a First American Title address and a near by legit First American Title office says it doesn’t exist.
Still not sure about the Real Estate Resources as they claim this was their first dealings with Andrew Morgan and are supposedly helping my parents reclaim their money.
