Scam Description
I was contacted by David Meyers stating I won first place in a phone sweepstakes. The package was $3.5 Million, a Mercedes and a briefcase with $25,000 cash. I was very skeptical and figured it was a scam but the person on the other end knew exactly what to say and roped me right in. There were all kinds of fees attached and every time I paid the fee with a Vanilla Visa gift card there was always another fee for something else that would surface. Until I paid all the fees I couldn’t get my package. Needless to say this went on for a year. I lost my car due to payments made to get my package. I charged all my credit cards to the max, took out 3 personal loans and a payday loan, used all my savings and even borrowed money from friends and relatives. There is so much more but I don’t think there’s enough room to put it all.
