Scam Description

I received a call from someone pretending to be T-Mobile. They said they had a special offer and asked if now is a good time to talk, I said “sure”. There was a LOT of background noise, much more than standard call centers. They said “sorry, yeah, it’s a call center” when I said I was having trouble hearing them with the background noise. They continued to say they have special offers, but need my account PIN to pull up my account to share the offers. At this point I realized I was likely being scammed, told them so, and politely hung up. They said “okay, well you can call us back here at this number if you’d like to get more information”. I called 611, the T-Mobile Customer Care phone number. They confirmed that the call was not from them, and it was likely a scam and I had “good instincts”. I asked T-Mobile if they had a way to report it, and they suggested I report to the FCC, but couldn’t provide a link.
The scammer was definitely American, and all of the background conversations all sounded like native-English speakers, I do not think they were from India. I spoke with a woman, there were men and women in the background.
