Scam Description
I was contacted by phone from someone claiming to be a part of Fundrise and they wanted to buy my timeshare in Mexico. I was quoted how much they would give me. We talked several times on the phone then a law firm, J & B International in Colorado became involved to “oversee” the transaction. I was told that I had to pay a 5% commission to the person I was dealing with but wouldn’t have to pay until after I got paid. The address on the contract for Fundrise is in Mexico but the company is based in Washington D.C. I was emailed a contract from J & B international. They wanted me to sign and send it back, that day. I decided to hold off and let a Real Estate person look at. But looking closer, not everything lines up. This is a very believable scam!
