Scam Description

I received an email today from Geek Squad. They thanks me for automatically renewing my subscription with them for $479.99 for total PC security. We have never used Geek Squad for our computer security. I called the customer service number to ask what and how this was being renewed. The man on the line identified himself as Chris William. He stated that he would be able to help me with the refund process. To continue this process I needed to be at my computer. He gave me addresses to type in to my computer so that the process could be completed. This included 2 websites, neither of which was Geek Squad. He assisted as I filled out a form for the refund. When The form asked for banking information I stopped and questioned him irately! He assured me that his company works with the BBB and that he would never ask me for my banking info as this was not allowed by the BBB. This was just to make sure the refund went to the proper bank. I told him to wait a minute while I checked my account to see if $479.99 had been withdrawn from my account by Geek Squad. I checked and there had been no withdrawal. I told him that since their had been no withdrawal, I obviously didn’t need the refund and hung up on him.
