Scam Description
Nishkul Technologies claimed to have cleared my computer of viruses almost 5 years ago. At that time, I saw their virus notifications for a few months, then all communication fell off. I paid $300 for this service at the time in 2017.
December 17, 2022 I started receiving text messages from “Robert”, with a very heavy accent stating he represents my renewal contract and to be sure I have sufficient funds in my linked checking account to cover the money they will be extracting {from my banking account} to cover me for another 6 years, $1500 due, further stating they will not be responsible for legal consequences If I do not pay, I immediately called this company complaining and I was assured no such thing, i.e. extracting money from my checking account was happening.
January 11, 2023 I received another text from Michael Bevan- where I returned his call. He was stating that I had a contract with his company and that I owed $8999.00 for the last 5 years. I told him under no circumstances would I agree to this type of service and had not heard from them since 2017- and doubted I was ever serviced in that yearly time period with the lack of virus notifications. I told him of my call with his company on Dec 17 where I contacted his company, and he said it was impossible that my contract was dismissed, because all calls were recorded! I was never asked for permission to record my call by anyone at this company.
Michael Bevan was pressuring me to settle on the Jan 12 call to have me connect to a computer and he was anxious to know what kind of computer I had. I agreed to meet him via text on Zoom on my phone where with message texts he began to negotiate how much I would owe, showing each year billing. In the end he wanted $1499.00 to cancel my “contract”.
He kept insisting on an agreement before hanging up. I reserved the time to seek legal advice. He told me if I did not pay, the yearly fee would keep accruing and that he would be adding another $1499 yearly for each of the next 6 years.
Harassment was used in this process. The communication was set up as intimidation and accents were hard to understand. Threats of sending me to his legal dept, and continuing my contract without my approval if I did not comply with a settlement were his next steps.
In the end, I don’t believe this company ever performed services past the first few months. They are looking to intimidate and take advantage for their benefit.
