Scam Description
Consumer received letter in the mail stating they had won the second category of the international general market survey draw. It states they are entitled to the sum of $500,000 payable by certified check. From letter: “Enclosed is a check in the amount of $6990.00 which has been deducted from your winnings. The purpose of theis check is to enable you pay for the tax, insurance, shipping and handling on your winnings.” Advised to call agent Dale Wesley, Manager Walter H. Harrison. Enclosed was a fake Chase Bank check from Canais Inc., DBA Harsey & Harsey Claim #AH45KW1
