Scam Description
Caller claimed he was from Unclaimed Department of Winners Bureau of “Publishers”. He said he needed to arrange delivery of 30% of winnings of substantial amount (previous call said we won $2.5M from Publishers Clearing House).
He had our names, home phone number, cell phone number and last two residences. He called persistently and then scheduled a call with us and “the IRS”. We did not give him any information even though he tried to get us to confirm addresses and provide email addresses.
On the last call, when I told him that we contacted local authorities, that he was being recorded and asked him to acknowledge that he was being recorded, he hung up. He used the name “Kevin Fletcher”.
