Scam Description
Fake listings for apartment rentals. I saw the listings on Craigslist which seemed too good to be true but on the off chance they were real, I reached out and received emails back from someone claiming to be with Nexus Condo Apartments. After a few emails back and forth, they said the apartment was mine and next steps were to fill out some paperwork and send them first months rent and a security deposit to reserve the apartment. Apparently, I couldn’t tour the apartment because there is currently a tenant so this would mean sending them $3200 sight unseen. Upon further inspection, Nexus Condos appears to be a fake company. The agent profiles on their website are inconsistent (some have first and last names listed, some only have first names, different email format- janedoe@gmail.com vs janedoeproperties@gmail.com vs jdoe.nexuscondoapartments@gmail.com) and the profile pictures are all stock images (easily discoverable with a simple google image search). The business address listed on their website is “65 North Park Avenue, USA” which doesn’t even make sense
