Scam Description

Found the apartment (2130 N St NW, Washington, DC) online and reached out to Joseph, the property manager. I virtually signed a contract that explained that my rental deposit would be fully refunded to me if I chose to not move into the apartment. Later on, Joseph informed me that I would have to pay 3 months rent upfront in order to receive my tenancy ID from the condominium. When I informed Joseph that I could not afford to pay 3 months rent upfront, I gave him the information to process my refund and wire the $3000 rental deposit back to my account. Joseph informed me via email that I would receive the money by the end of that week. It has been over two weeks now and I still have not received the deposit. He also won’t respond to any of the emails I sent asking about it.
