Scam Description
A person calling himself Jack Barnes, General Manager of PCH Publisher’s Clearing House called from phone # (512) 764-7769. Mr. Barnes advised me I was the second place winner (claims # 85562809150) of $3.5 million and a bonus prize if a 2025 Mercedes. He advised he was sending two local police and two marshals to escort me and himself to a bank to deposit a certified check for $3.5 million. I told him I work for the Baldwin County Sheriff’s office so I could have my own escorts. The call ended quickly after that.
