Scam Description
Homeowner contacted on landline then was contacted on cell phone, which at that time they left message. Message left was: Hi there this call is to remind you that 50% discount offer on your Comcast Xfinity account expires today in order to avail the discount please call back at 855-391-0479 from 8 AM to 5 PM Pacific standard time thank you and have a great day
When you call that #, they state they will give you 50% off your bill for next 3 years but that you have to pay 3 months up front. Then they go on to say that Target is helping with this promotion so that they need to tell you about some items that they sell. Payment is in the form of a Target Gift card, one is to purchase for $350 and say for personal use so you won’t get charged the tax or activation fee. Text message is sent to your cell phone which comes from717-993-1816. Once card is purchased (must be done within 2 hours) and then homeowner was to call 888-352-6314 ask for billing department and give them promotion code MU3035-W. They would then ask for Target card information.
