Scam Description

I applied for online loans, and someone contacted me saying I had been approved. They ssid their purpose was to verify my identity before sending a contract to my email. They had my name and sovial security number, and knew that my income is from SSDI. Then they wanted me to “verify” my bank account and routing number. I refused to give that information over the phone, and they said they couldn’t send a contract unless I “verified” it.
We went back and forth for some minutes, but I put my foot down and refused to provide the information. I finally had to hang up. They then proceeded to call back, twice from the initial number, and 9 times from an 888 number, within 5 minutes.
I answered, finally, and they proceeded to try to get my bank name and location. I told them I needed the name of their company. I was told Graphite Loans (I made him spell it because his accent was very thick). As soon as he spelled it, he hung up.
I looked it up online. Attempts to reach the site were met with failure “This site can’t be reached”. I called the 888 number and had to hang up on someone who wouldn’t let me get a word in, trying to sign me up for a free medical alert device.
