Scam Description

Scammer sent me an email with a very realistic looking page of what seemed to be a BestBuy renewal for a Laptop Service Plan. It so happened that I have purchased Laptops, Cameras and many other electronic items from BestBuy, including recently last year, so I though it was legit. The email stated that the renewal for the $417 was processed and my service plan would continue uninterrupted. Since the email stated that if I had any questions regarding the renewal I could call the Geek Squad Directly at ( 808) 229-3680, I did. Incredibly like the report I just saw on your site, a guy by the name of Mathew answered, with “BestBuy, this is the Geek Squad” and ask me how he could help – very professional. When I proceeded to ask him about the email he starting asking me for my email, and phone number, which I did not provide. I was ready to almost provide him my info. So, I asked him to provide proof of the device and who he was upon which he hung up.
My main concern is that he/they now have my Cell Phone Number and my full name, which could be used to correlate to other pieces of my personal information. Not sure if I can do anything to protected myself. Please provide this info to Law Enforcement /Cyber security officials, if possible. Thanks!
