Scam Description
I had a request from a Facebook marketplace posting to text an interested party. I texted the person and they wanted a verification code to prove I was real. I texted the code and they said the number was bad and wanted another phone number. At that point I was suspicious and said no to another phone number. I never heard from them again and I cannot find the original message in Facebook messenger. Is there anything I can do to protect myself from identity theft or them stealing my phone number or opening accounts in my name?
