Scam Description
They initially provided a valid service – they published my novel ‘Mutiny on the Omaha with author listed as *** ****** – my penname’. They then informed ne I needed other services (that they said would promote/guarantee sales) that I paid for but later learned the services were un-needed or not provided or provided me no revenue and/or were fourt times the price from others. They also promised services and then switched the service provided and then did not complete the lesser service (bait and switch). They are still trying to get me to pay for advertising? services and promise to pay me money (royalties from) my book sales which I am told are over 4 times the amount they are asking me to pay (verbally told royalties from sales were $!2,000+ and later $8,000+). My contract with them says they will provide me with quarterly statements of sales and earnings, which they have never voluntarily sent me though I received the one for my first quarter (out of five quarters) by talking to a new employee? about a year ago. I have no idea of actual book sales but I now have other publishers contacting me trying to sell me services (Was my information sold??)
I would like to know how to look up the companies now contacting me to see if any are affiliated with the BBB. I am still trying to become a successful author and need to find a trust worthy publisher or company to publicize my books at a level I can afford.
