Scam Description
On Sunday, October 14, 2024, I was searching for a new office chair on different sites. I was on Microsoft Edge. When I was on Walmart .com, a message popped up with a chair that was cheaper and it was through Wayfair for 90% off. Seemed to me it was being sold for clearance. So I clicked it and saw the chair and fit my needs. So I ordered it because the web address was locked and it said the headquarters was in Boston, MA just like the main Wayfair site. I received a confirmation email with details stating that I would receive another one when it was shipped. That never happened. I was checking to see when it was going to be shipped because it said each day “Not Shipped”; Today, October 16th, the site was blank. The links in the email no longer worked. I had to re-register and once I go into the order area, it said I had no orders. Now on the website, https://www.buywayfair.com/, the chair is still there, but at a different price of 49.99 plus shipping and saying the same number are left. My credit card was charged to a company named Dingshang Co. LTD 951-7235442, NY 10003 US. I contacted Wayfair on that site and spoke with a rep and they advised me ‘the other wayfair’ is not affiliated with them and that I should dispute with me credit card company I am doing so. I also believe that when this transaction settled, someone with DIngshang used my card to purchase Walmart items. That transaction has not settled yet (taking longer than it should.) to see the name of who actually did it yet. Thank you for being here.
