Scam Description
A Facebook Marketplace seller by the name of James Williams Taylor had listed an IPhone 14 Pro Max on his page saying he needed this gone asap. He had told me to purchase off of their website in order to have it shipped out to me. I was promised a 14 pro max to be shipped to me since he was from Texas. I paid 176.25, which was with afterpay, an online loan app just in case I did lose it all and he turns out to be a scam, but they will not do anything. The scammer had the exact same phone listed in other platforms after I purchase and I confronted him on the profile that was connected to the listed phone under the name Josh Faeva that was never answered. Both Facebook accounts are deleted and he is now telling afterpay that I met him in person to complete the transaction in full in which I say, I would not be disputing this charge with afterpay if I had. He has forged, illegal documents with my initials that he wrote saying I ‘signed a contract’ which doesn’t make since if it ever was in person. I have plenty of photos to prove this and as well as him sending a fake shipping email saying how it was in person, which also doesn’t make sense to have if it was.
