Scam Description
4/11/23: Reached out to 1-802-618-8008 from this website: https:// www.faresfriction.com/blog/how-do-i-talk-to-a-live-person-at-asiana-airlines To try to change my reservation asap.
4/11/23: Austin answered and told me that the reservation had been confirmed and will take up to 24 hours, but it still didn’t come even after 24 hours.
4/13/23: Per Austin, “Tickets has been changed and issued please check on the Asiana App as well as on the website and we have shared the details via Text message as well.”
4/13/23 @ 5:39 PM: Never got the new reservation via text, app, or website. So I decided to wait a little bit more.
4/14/23 @ 12:42 PM : Asiana Airlines rep called asking me if I had my uncle call them for a change of ticket. I told them no and the agent told me that she got a weird phone call from an Indian voiced male stating that he was my uncle and wanted to change my ticket. I am Korean and do not have an Indian uncle. The Asiana airline agent thought of this action to be suspicious so she gave me a call to confirm.
Asiana Airlines sent me the itinerary file where it shows that the date did not changed to June 2nd. It was still same as May 24th.
She told me that I needed to pay $290 to actually change it because the flight was not changed and told me to report the charge as a fraud to my bank because I technically did not receive the service as the itinerary did not change.
If Austin actually changed it, then the date should’ve been June 2nd. Not May 24th.
4/14/23 @ 2:42 PM: Once I decided and paid $290 with the Chase Unlimited Freedom Card, the Asiana Airlines rep then sent me the actual, new, changed itinerary in real time.
I cannot pay for something I never got the service for. If Austin or the third party actually changed my departure date and offered the services as they said they did, why would I pay additional $290 to Asiana Airlines to get it changed?
