Scam Description
I made a deposit via Venmo to hold for one week for a dog that was up for adoption.
A day later after doing research on the company, my family and I decided something wasn’t right, as the woman I spoke to would not provide any more photos of the dog and the information provided on the dog was questionable.
We made the decision to no longer go through with an adoption.
I messaged the director who I made the transaction to and explained the change in plans, and kindly asked if the deposit was refundable.
I got no response from the woman so I called her the next day to confirm receipt of my message. She was rude and condescending on the call and stated I contacted her outside business hours and she was dealing with the death of a dog and couldn’t talk to me at that time. She tried to avoid the refund topic by rushing me off of the phone.
