Scam Description
I did a Google search for Sour Patch Kids costume. This site came up at the very top with multiple options of personalized shirts and tutus. I chose one with no personalization for my child’s Halloween costume early in September. The site claimed free shipping and 10% off your first order (very enticing for a bargain shopper as myself). I didn’t take notice that there were NO reviews for any of the products and dismissed the fact that they didn’t offer PayPal or other payment method. Two weeks later with no shipping info I contacted the company. I received an extremely rude response about them not shipping for 3-4 weeks. Not wanting to jeopardize my product I let it go and waited. Two more weeks passed and I contacted them again to which they responded I would be receiving it the next Friday (basically two more weeks). That Friday came and still nothing. When I reached out again they said that the shipping department had emailed me on Monday to ask about the name on the shirt. I hadn’t asked for a name on the shirt. Also, there was no email (in my spam or otherwise). I then told them I suspected it was a fraudulent company and that I needed a solution by Tuesday (product or tracking number) or I would be reporting it to the BBB. Here I am…they did send an email that says my purchase price was refunded. I haven’t seen that clear my bank yet. However, even if there’s no lost money my information has been compromised. I think they also claim to sell party supplies. I saw another claim from September when I decided to file this one. Lesson learned: check the BBB before buying from a new site and be watchful for things like no reviews and no payment options.
