Scam Description
This person promotes a business on social media claiming to provide signage for events and occasions. She accepted my deposit via digital payment and gave me a pickup date of Friday, September 23, 2022. When that day came she was not reachable by phone for several hours. She them claimed to not have access to the product and tried to continue to push the pickup out further. Again on the alternate date, she gave for pickup she was not reachable by phone or other means for several hours.
I was forced to spend additional funds elsewhere because the product was time sensitive. She refused to return my deposit and claimed that the board was done but was at a pickup location that she would not be at and said it would have to be at night. She claimed that when I got there “someone” would open the door.
This is a scam to take people’s initial deposit and risk for violent harm as it seems to be an attempt to lure people to an undisclosed location.
