Scam Description
I clicked on an ad seen on Instagram – it offered a 20-piece Le Creuset cookware set for a bargain price (i believe $39.99 plus tax) My card was charged $47.98. I never received a confirmation email of my purchase.
Nothing was shipped / received, so I disputed the charge with American Express. In response they sent “proof of delivery” which was just a typed up form that provided a UPS tracking #. But when I went on ups.com to track the package, their website said the # was invalid. Comparing it with other UPS tracking #s, I realize they usually have a different # of digits and contain letters, so this tracking # was totally fake.
I’m working with American Express to re-dispute the charge, but wanted to file an official complaint.
