Scam Description
There was a Facebook advertisement to purchase bone conducting headphones on sale. I have had a pair in the past, and I thought I’d like to try a new pair. The purchase total and my confirmation email came to a total of $36.88, but my credit card was charged $44.26. I went to their website to contact the company about the discrepancy, but there is no phone number or customer service contact other than the email support@bigbicyclmn.com. I have received no response to my emails. I am not confident that I will receive this product. The cancellation, refund, and return policies are listed with slightly different terms on a few different pages on the website. This is when I realized that there is no consistent font from page to page; it occasionally appears as if information has been copied and pasted. In a few areas on the website they refer to themselves as “asmoonbright”.
The listed company name and address under Terms of Service is Landbase Trading Co., LTD at 146a Whitchurch Road, Cardiff, Wales, CF1 3NA. There was no indication this was a foreign company when making my transaction via Facebook. Upon searching Google for this company and address, it appears Landbase Trading Co. Ltd trading as lotistar.com has broken UK advertising rules (https://www.asa.org.uk/non-compliant/landbase-trading-co-ltd.html), yet another name or company they are operating as.
I called my credit card company and they informed me that I can file a dispute for the charge difference, or if I never receive the product, a dispute for the full amount. This is not encouraging because they said there is no seller contact information listed.
