Scam Description
I was trying to register my Amazon fire tv stick. I went to the website. Given and after following directions I was given a phone number to call. The female with a Middle Eastern accent Proceeded to talk me through the registration and gave me directions on a few steps to take. And before I knew it, she had full access to my phone and all my payment accounts. Truist, Zelle and Cash app. I expressed I was uneasy with her having access to these and she assured me it was Amazon’s way of securing my account. All while giving me instructions on setting up my fire stick. All of a sudden I noticed she was controling what was on my phone and I asked her what she was doing and she hung up the phone. I then contacted my bank and put a freeze on my bank account and online banking. Uncertain of what else to do and about other accounts that she might possibly be able to access, and what to do about her having access to my phone.
