Scam Description
I messaged S & L cleaning services on Facebook about cleaning my house. They sounded like a reputable company and provided screen shots of references from people. They required a $150 etransfer deposit to hold my spot. They attempted to change the agreed upon date multiple times but never ended up showing up. I messaged multiple times and when they finally responded they claimed a “family emergency”. I requested the deposit back as the entire point of the cleaning was to have them in before Christmas and between them continually changing the date and then not showing up at all, there was no need for their service anymore. There were also other red flags such as them messaging me at 2:00am and 5:30am trying to change the date. They claimed the deposit was non refundable. Looking back it was obviously a scam and I wish I would have never sent them any money. I am pregnant and have a toddler at home and they were aware of this (hence wanting to pay for the house cleaning) and took advantage. Taking a closer look at their profile they are clearly fake photos and I couldn’t find anyone else that recommended them, but often see them recommending themselves in groups on Facebook. I don’t want anyone else to be scammed by these horrible people. I have attached a photo of their logo that they use on Facebook.
