Scam Description
We got this 9×6 glossy postcard in the mail today. Since we will be needing snow removal services this year, we called the number, and a gruff man answered. We asked if we could get referrals for his company, and he said “why would I do that?” And I said, “so you could get our business?” And he said “why would we want your business, when nearly all of our routes are full?” And I said “then why did I get this postcard in the mail today advertising your service?” And he said “probably because you make over 100K and live in a certain ZIP Code!” Then he hung up! several of our neighbors received the same postcards and had similar experiences. I hope none of my neighbors fell for and prepaid for this obvious scam. The red flags are numerous; no address or website or email on the postcard, and if you Google the phone number, it is in New York, not Minnesota. We have already reported this as mail fraud.
