Scam Description
On Friday, 9/16/2022 I received this email:
Dear Sir/Ma’am
Greetings to you,
This mail is to inform you that you have taken the online computer services with us in 2019 with auto-reactivation mode and the products that we have installed remotely were anti-malware,firewall protection and network protection tools with auto-reactivation mode. We have sent you several reminder emails regarding the auto-activation of the online computer services but as we did not received any response from you and you were not able to complete the cancellation procedure by the due date so we are considering as you want to re-activate your computer services. Your subscription has been activated. Kindly clear our bill before the due date to avoid any late fine or legal action. Kindly feel free to call us or mail us for any further assistance.

I had no memory of this and the computer I used in 2019, crashed in 2020 and no longer exists. I returned the email saying the computer was destroyed and to please cancel any reactivation. I then received another series of emails saying software had been put on my computer that must be returned (how do you do that?? They never sent any kind of disc) or I must pay $149.00. I said I’m not paying anything, They sent a document that I supposedly signed in 2019 giving them $299.00 for “online services” that I have no record of. It does not mention a $149.00 fee for cancellation. It also says my plan was for 2 years which would have meant any reactivation should have been done in 2021, not 2022. I was told they want their software returned or they will refer me to collections. I checked the phone # given -+1-239-935-5073 and found others complaining about this happening to them too. “James Cooper” said I had received an email telling me of the coming due date on 8.31.2022. I never received any such email. The first email came on 9.16. When I tell him I’m alerting you now to cancel, I am told I must follow the cancellation process, although there is no process explained in order to do that.

This is completely untrue. He never sent any such emails. I check my emails and spam folder every day. The first email sent was the one above on 9.16. I have now been going back and forth with “James Cooper” for 2 days and we are just going around in circles.
