Scam Description
I applied for a remote job on Indeed. The job posting was chat support/data entry under the name Wizz Accounting. Upon being contacted the company was suddenly using the name United Group – supposedly a chat support/data entry company – by someone using the name Andrija Derezic. I encountered a few red flags in the beginning since the entire interview was via messaging in Teams. Within a few hours I was “hired effective immediately”. Andrija claimed that they were going to send me a MacBook via their company’s vendor. I was to receive a check through email that I was instructed to deposit via mobile app. He very strictly did not want me to go to the bank physically. All of this set off even more red flags so I went to my bank and they confirmed my suspicion that the check was a fraud intended to somehow get me to pay for “equipment”. This is incredibly frustrating and I no longer trust job postings on Indeed.com.
