Scam Description

I filled out an agreement form in regards to employment with PLS-Ship. I was told that it would be 24 to 48 before someone contacted me to set up an account dashboard. I contacted them after three days and had difficulty reaching someone. When I received correspondence, they apologized for the delay and said they were waiting for the results of my background check. I didn’t give them permission to run a check on me. Nor was it in the agreement that I READ and SIGNED. NO MENTION about a background check. I was sent information from Jules Hayward (one of two supervisors) and Luther Craig on how to handle packages. They also told me there will be a training course for the first week before I get my first package. Nothing has been said about training since I spoke with them. And I will be getting the first package on April 17th, 2023. Supposedly a fake gold ring. They said the base pay is $3600 a month and will not get paid for 30 to 31 days for my first payroll and then thereafter will be paid bi-weekly. They have my social and address and a photo of my ID. They seemed legit. They were on indeed.com. Because of that fact I trusted they were ok. Should have known better. The first sign that I ignored was the ‘background check’ that I didn’t authorize. One more thing; in one of the emails, they sent they mentioned that they were a small company in the EU. I never did understand why they were in business or what their services were. Is it not a federal offense to open any mail from any source (FedEx, USPS, UPS) unless it is yours? I can’t find their website either. They mimic another company that is a logistics company but the website for this legit company has different information in regard to phone number addresses, no job openings or postings. It is similar in almost every way. ALMOST.
