Scam Description

I was contacted via email by someone identifying as Paul Goldman, HR Department of Networkship, LLC. He stated that I had been chosen as a shipping agent for the company which would include accepting packages at my home, inspecting them, and then revealing and placing prepaid labels that they sent me on the boxes and shipping them to their final destination. Not thinking anything of it, I accepted the position as it all seemed legit. They have a website set up, asked that I fill out a W2 and all papers that led to being government legal, and even (I assume) created “news articles” that can be found when searching the company, to make them look legit. Being a stay at home mom of 2, it’s a perfect job! WRONG! Once it came time for to talk about salary….silence! I could not get my “manager” to answer any of my messages, could not get through to the number they provided for the HR department…nothing. So, I did what I should have done in the beginning and investigated. What I found out…made my stomach drop. Not only is reshipping packages illegal, but scammers will use this method to purchase items with stolen credit cards and receive the items! I did not know that reshipping packages and mail is an illegal act! Luckily, I did not send any money (was never asked to) so I didn’t lose out on anything. But I am terrified of these people get others in trouble. Do not fall for a company called Networkship, LLC or any of shipping agent positions!
