Scam Description
I responded to a post offering additional income. I asked for more info. I received a letter with instructions, and a (fraudulent) cashier’s check for $2390.73.
I was instructed to deposit the check, get a $30 cashier’s check made out to the Red Cross and send it back, then purchase Mastercard gift cards. I was to take pics of the front and back (with the authorization info displayed) and send them in.
As we say here in Texas, this ain’t my first rodeo.
