Scam Description
received an email regarding a job offer and stated they saw my resume on Indeed. Indeed is the only place I do have my resume, so felt it was a legitimate offer. They gave me all the info about my obligations, hours, pay, etc. Nothing too crazy or too good to be true jumped out, including the pay. I checked out the business, they had a website and an email that would qualify as an email from a business. They stated they needed to do a background check which included a copy of my DL front and back, and my SSN. I gave them the info. The next day I received an email stating I passed the background check (1st red flag, I know it takes a bit longer), and then information about equipment that was going to be shipped and a training video to follow. This email also included a signing bonus after I finished training, but since I was so well received by management and they were so impressed with my resume, they wanted me onboard asap…so to expedite the process, they were going to send me the money to purchase my own equipment, plus my signing bonus…I was to deduct my signing bonus and purchase equipment from their verified suppliers. (huge red flag) I did not respond to that email and have not heard from them since.
