Scam Description
I applied for a remote position at Dryad Construction LLC on indeed and received an email asking for an interview. I responded via their primary method which was Google Chat. From there, I chatted with a Grace Hopkins about the position. It seemed normal at first, but the responses seemed very copy/paste. I answered all of her questions and she stated I reached a score of 83/100 for their screening and that I was hired- keep in mind, she never called to speak with me nor conducted a virtual interview as I was outside of their primary state of operation. She requested my name and address to send a check to me and explained it would cover my equipment and software on the equipment. I did some research and their website is legitimate, as well as their LLC information in their state. When I went to review the job listing on Indeed, it was taken down. However, I have a very unsettling feeling about this and that this is “too good to be true”. Please look into this as I am fearful that others will be scammed and cash checks like the one described above.
