Scam Description
Multatech is a legitimate business actually but there is an individual or individual’s attempting to impersonate the HR staff at Multatech to offer jobs then attempt to steal your identity by having you send them a picture of your ID and ultimately your checking/routing numbers when you attempt to setup direct deposit. Monet.redd@multatechcareer.com is a spoof of the real HR staff member residing at @multatech.com. I spoke to HR at Multatech and they do not own the @multatechcareer.com domain and therefor would not have any email addresses with @multatechcareer.com as the domain. I did not share my information for what it’s worth. After submitting the questionnaire and test upon completion that they sent to me after the initial email suggested they found me on LinkdIn, they responded three days later with an $80 hr offer to work remotely with the caveat being they would send me a check to purchase my items… laptop, printer, etc., and then training would begin virtually. My scam meter went through the roof and I began digging. I found Multatech to have 3 locations across two states. After trying all three locations and using the company directory to locate Mrs. Redds extension, I was able to speak with the real Mrs. Redd who had no idea I existed and had never heard my name. Subsequently they were not hiring for the position I was told I had an offer for either.
