Scam Description
Scammer messaged me on Instagram pretending to be a friend and started talking about a new business endeavor they were doing. Instructed me to make an account through website and transfer BTC into account. Before being able to deposit into account you had to upload photo ID and have account verified. Was also instructed to download an app to communicate via text from. Before initiating a trade I decided to reach out to a mutual friend to see if they had heard from our friend as well to confirm it was them because I was getting an odd feeling about it all. Upon realizing it wasn’t them, I tried to withdraw the funds from the platform and was unable to.
