Scam Description
Purchased a pair of Birkenstock sandals that are fake. Website describes Birkenstock sandals with all of the features but upon receipt, it is obvious they are fake when compared to real sandals. Website says they are made in Germany and shipped from Germany; the tracking information showed shipping via Deutsche Post. Upon delivery, the label under the USPS label shows Chinese characters. The color listed on box is not a Birkenstock color and there is a Chinese character next to the color. The size on the shoes is incorrect, there are mispelled German words on box, the material of the footbed is not cork, the upper material is not leather, toe bar is absent and deep heel cup is also absent. These are some of the differences but the list goes on. Upon contacting seller, was told I could get a 30% refund within 24 hours and keep products or return at my expense to an address in Québec, Canada. Was also told not to contact my credit card provider as this would delay refund. Have submitted a complaint with FBI and econsumer.gov. Contacted Facebook who indicated they did not find that the page went against their community standards. Have contacted my bank who stated they cannot dispute the charge because website does not say the sandals are genuine and I have received the product.
