Scam Description
I purchased a set of 3 water filters that were clearly labeled as “official” with easy returns and easy installation. However, upon receipt, they did not work with my fridge and I was told I had to “hack” (remove and reuse) the RFID chip from my existing water filter for it to work properly. I requested a refund, but the seller offered only a partial refund. Ultimately, PayPal covered the purchase with their buyer protection program. There are others online who have posted about this scam with very similar experiences.
